European Trademark Registration
The European Union trademark (EUTM) registration is an efficient and cost-effective procedure for obtaining trademark rights in the European Community. The procedure allows for a single application to be filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EU IPO) and makes it significantly quicker, easier and more affordable to obtain protection in all 27 EU countries than applying to each country individually. The EUTM System runs parallel to the trade mark legislation of each national EU member state.
Registration is confirmed by the issuance of the trademark registration certificate. A trademark owner has the right to use the trademark, sell or license it and prevent others from using his trademark in relation to goods and services for which it is registered.
